If You Love Reading, Then Help The Author
Last month one of my favourite people passed away. He was someone I could count on to give me real, honest feedback on my work. I used to ask him to be brutal in his assessments, if he felt it necessary. He was never brutal, just patient, kind and gifted with great judgement. Thank you, Lance, you are irreplaceable.
Most writers like to receive feedback. Unfortunately, many readers don’t realize this. But getting opinions and advice from readers is exactly what we need. How else can we improve what we do?
We know it is impossible to please everybody. Opinions are subjective and people are different from one another; we learn to accept disparate views and are grateful for all of them.
When you read one of my books please get in touch and tell me what you think about it. I always respond to emails as soon as I can. If you aren’t comfortable about making direct contact, say what you think in a review, posted on Amazon.com or wherever you bought the book. You don’t even have to use your real name. But do post a review; they help enormously to keep us striving to do better.
Thank you for reading this. I look forward to hearing from you.
Lance, with his latest great grand-daughter.
